Synectix LAN 232 TRIO

The Synectix LAN 232 TRIO 3-Port serial to ethernet adapter is vulnerable to unauthenticated modification of critical settings or factory resets due to a missing authentication vulnerability (CVE-2026-1633, CVSS 10). All versions of the Synectix LAN 232 TRIO are affected. Since Synectix is no longer in business, no official patch is available. As a workaround, CISA recommends minimizing network exposure, isolating control system networks behind firewalls, and using VPNs for remote access, while acknowledging VPN vulnerabilities and the need for their updates.
