Data Security Veeam enhances data protection with new AI-powered features May 13, 2026 Share By SC Staff (Adobe Stock) As detailed in Silicon Angle, Veeam Software Group GmbH has launched new features aimed at bolstering enterprise data backup and protection against cyber threats. These updates are integrated into their existing Veeam Data Platform and introduce a new offering, the DataAI Command Platform, leveraging technology from their recent acquisition of Securiti AI. Veeam Data Platform v13.1 introduces over 70 enhancements, including post-quantum cryptography to safeguard backups against future quantum computing threats. It also features an expanded malware scanner for AWS, Azure, Microsoft 365, and NAS environments, alongside optimizations for Active Directory backups and cost-effective long-term storage. The new DataAI Command Platform, built on Securiti AI technology, automatically maps data assets, identifies configuration vulnerabilities, and manages AI agents, preventing unauthorized access and reversing unwanted changes. Additional modules like DataAI Resilience Module and Veeam Intelligent ResOps further extend capabilities, allowing natural language queries for backup infrastructure checks and simplifying Microsoft 365 data protection by surfacing sensitive and business-critical files in a unified dashboard.
