Home Blog Employee Spotlight: Andrea Colon, Restoring Peace of Mind in a Paranoid Digital World Published: May 7, 2026 Employee Spotlight: Andrea Colon, Restoring Peace of Mind in a Paranoid Digital World By: Erin Bortz In this edition of our “Employee Spotlight” series , I sat down with Andrea Colon, an Account Executive who sees the human side of cyber warfare every single day. For Andrea, cybersecurity is about more than just code. It's about the emotional resilience of the people behind the screens. Here’s what she had to say. What’s your role here at Huntress? Andrea: I’m an AE on our MSP [managed service provider] team. I connect with organizations to help them understand their vulnerabilities, and I give them the tools they need to stay ahead of threats. Andrea smiling (as usual) at one of many Huntress events You have some "war stories." Tell us about an incident that stood out to you. Andrea: Because of my position, I know a handful of folks who’ve been hacked. The most recent one is now a partner of ours. When we first met, he was dealing with the aftermath of a breach. He was obviously scared. He had become paranoid about every single thing in his environment, like every login, every email, every alert. That emotional overload was what pushed him to partner with Huntress. By that point, he didn't just want another vendor. He just wanted to regain peace of mind so he could focus on his business again. How has your view of the digital world shifted since joining the Huntress team? Andrea: Working directly with MSPs has completely changed how I see things. I’ve learned that security isn't as simple as dodging cheesy emails from a "Nigerian prince." Today’s threats are way sneakier and a lot more sophisticated. It’s all about being proactive and understanding how things are evolving. An attacker only needs to be right once for them to make an impact, or possibly even end a business. Every week, I see that the real cost of a breach is much more than the initial ransom. Afterward, businesses might deal with mountains of legal and insurance paperwork. Recovery fees can be absolutely crushing. And, not to mention, the loss of productivity when systems are down is another major loss that people don’t realize Businesses usually struggle to survive under these circumstances. Because I see how devastating this is in real life, I can’t help but double down on the Huntress mission to, as we say, democratize enterprise-grade security for every business. The Huntress takeaway There’s a human cost to breaches. While headlines focus on the dollar amount of a ransom, the emotional fallout is often an equally heavy, if not heavier, burden. Andrea’s experience highlights that the stakes are existential. That’s why we strive to do more than just "stop hackers." We protect livelihoods. By providing purpose-built solutions for under-resourced teams, we ensure that one successful attack doesn't mean the end of the world.
