Phishing Facebook scam targets users over 40 with fake Aldi meat box offers May 22, 2026 Share By SC Staff (Photo by Kirill Kudryavtsev/AFP via Getty Images) According to Tech Radar, a new Facebook scam is targeting users over 40 with enticing offers of cheap Aldi meat boxes, aiming to steal personal information and financial data. Malwarebytes has identified a phishing scheme circulating on Facebook that preys on individuals aged 40 and above. The scam involves posts claiming that Aldi is offering meat boxes for under $10 to this demographic. Victims are directed to spoofed landing pages that often feature fake games designed to appear winnable. After navigating these fake interfaces, users are prompted to provide sensitive personally identifiable information (PII) and credit card details, ostensibly for the discounted meat box and expedited delivery. Security researchers warn that these posts are fraudulent and designed for phishing and financial fraud. They advise extreme skepticism towards social media deals that seem too good to be true, especially as barbecue season approaches.
