CYBERSECURITY FUNDING Cogent Security Raises $42 Million for AI-Driven Vulnerability Management The Series A funding round, led by Bain Capital, brings the total raised by Cogent to $53 million. The funding was led by Bain Capital Ventures, with participation from Greylock Partners, Definition, and executives from OpenAI, Abnormal Security, and Datadog. This brings Cogent Security’s total funding to $53 million and the proceeds will be used to accelerate product development. The San Francisco-based company provides an agentic AI platform that addresses challenges in vulnerability management by automating investigation, prioritization, and remediation tasks. The system connects and normalizes vulnerability data across environments, handling scanner noise and incorporating business context. It prioritizes risks based on environmental factors beyond standard severity scores, surfaces emerging threats, and generates tailored remediation plans integrated into existing workflows.
