After a soft-launch period, we're finally ready to take the wraps off our latest newsroom project: a brand-new section devoted to cybersecurity content for practitioners, cyber execs, and business owners in Latin America. This is a significant expansion for our DR Global news and analysis coverage, which already includes dedicated regional sections for the Middle East & Africa (MEA) and the Asia-Pacific region. While LatAm coverage has always been part of the Dark Reading mix, the new section offers something pretty cool: a centralized, multimedia-friendly, happy home for news coverage, features, commentary, video content, and critical analysis specifically developed for readers in the region. We feel it's about time: Latin America has a set of unique cybersecurity challenges and opportunities, which are ramping up as it solidifies its position as a hotbed of tech innovation. It boasts several rapidly growing tech hubs throughout the region, including Bogotá, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, and Santiago, to name a few. Businesses and governments are actively embracing AI, cloud, and edge computing at impressive growth rates, along with vertical-specific tech and smart infrastructure. And while the regional tech stack bears a strong resemblance to that of the US and Canada, there are also important differences, like a mobile-first focus and embrace of business 5G, and a reputation for creative innovation on the app development front, especially in FinTech. In a surprise to no one, the bad guys have followed, making cybersecurity resilience top of mind for most businesses in Latin America — a reality that's been criminally overlooked by the cybersecurity press corps to date. We're launching today with the new section and regular content for Latin American readers in English, but I'm also excited to share our plans for the future. This includes article summaries in Spanish, with the ultimate goal of offering fully translated articles relevant to the region. We also plan to explore the feasibility of offering Brazilian Portuguese content as well. Ultimately, our goal is to be as accessible to regional readers as we can. To help us shape this vision, we invite you to participate in our new poll, now live across the Dark Reading site, to let us know if you'd like to see more content for non-English speakers. And finally, I also encourage the community to get involved in our content: if you have insights, opinions, or expertise on cybersecurity issues in Latin America, we welcome your commentaries and contributions. Additionally, if you have a news tip or story idea, don't hesitate to share it with us, either by emailing myself or our editorial team, or hitting us up on social media . Together, we can build a vibrant and informed cybersecurity community that addresses the unique needs of this dynamic region. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to expand our global coverage!
